This project explored the collaborative possibilities of AI in the design process. I utilized generative AI to assist with research and brainstorming. Using AI, I crafted a narrative based on the mycelial growth cycle as an allegory for digital decay. I generated a collection of visual styles and illustrative techniques to inspire my visual portrayal of this narrative.
I completed several initial sketches and storyboards, exploring different directions for the illustrative panels.
Moving digitally and incorporating typography, I chose to lean heavily into symbolic motifs of corrosion and pixelation, shying away from the more natural, organic forms typically associated with mushrooms.
Expanding the project's scope, I added an interactive element with Figma, inviting the reader to experience the story online.
