This project dissects the idea of performative activism through a multimedia work, exploring the juxtaposition between the political landscape in 2020 verses 2025. The work challenges the viewer to examine their own role in the continuing struggle to ensure justice for black lives.
Through the use of mixed media, I explored the aesthetics of grassroots movements and the ways in which legitimate tools for resisting oppression are commodified, simplified into slogans, and sold on mass-produced products. Using tangible materials allowed me to think beyond the digital canvas and explore experimental solutions to express the narrative.
